Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, usually accompanied by fatigue, sleep disturbances, memory loss, and mood swings.

The causes of fibromyalgia are not yet fully understood, but there are several theories. Possible triggers for the development of the disease include traumatic events, as well as excessive strain on the body through sports or work. Hormonal changes in the body can also play a role.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia are diverse and can vary from person to person. Those affected often suffer from severe muscle soreness and tension, as well as pain in the joints and other parts of the body.

Depressive moods and generalized anxiety disorder can also be accompanying symptoms. Other symptoms that may occur in those affected include:

  • fatigue

  • Headache

  • Abdominal pain

  • Bladder problems

  • dry eyes
